About Us

LINDFIELD FAMILY MEDICINE (LFM) is a private billing practice with over 60 years’ experience in providing general practice medical services.

Incorporating Drs Ferraris, Power and Associates, today we are a group of 14 dedicated medical professionals who aim to provide the highest level of healthcare to individuals and families. With a wide variety of special interest areas our doctors are committed to continuous vocational development.

We are an independently owned and managed practice that is fully accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Our Registered Nurses

There are three Registered Nurses available Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm to provide a comprehensive range of clinical support services including:  childhood and general immunisations, health assessments and wound management, many of which can be bulk billed.

 
Your Preferred Doctor

We aim to always book you with your preferred doctor, however if your doctor is unavailable on the day, other doctors in our practice will be available to address your concerns. At LFM we work collaboratively to provide you with the best in healthcare.
Our Friendly Receptionists

Our friendly and professional reception team and practice manager are available Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturdays 8am to 1pm to assist you with all your booking and general enquires.

WOMEN’S HEALTHCARE

All aspects of women's healthcare needs: PAP screening, Breast Examinations - Perimenopause and Menopause.
FAMILY PLANNING AND OBSTETRIC CARE
 From contraceptive advice to Fertility assessment and referrals, our doctors are able to provide you with individualised management plans. We also provide shared care obstetric and post-natal care, liaising with Royal North Shore and Hornsby hospitals.
CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES
  • Implanon (insertion and removal)
  • Sexual health screening    
  • IUD Insertion and Removal (MIRENA)
  • Pregnancy counselling
MEN’S HEALTH

Regular health checks, blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks, prostate checks and advice and treatment on sexual health.

Health checks for men aged 40-49 offer significant benefits, including early detection of potential health issues, personalized advice for healthy lifestyle choices, and opportunities to address specific risk factors. These checks can help prevent or delay the onset of chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
SKIN CARE

Our doctors are experienced in performing skin checks, biopsies and excisions.  They are trained to know which lesions need specialist referral.
IRON INFUSIONS

We offer Iron infusions to appropriate patients who have been identified as iron-deficient and for whom oral iron replacement has not been sufficient or is not appropriate. For further details, see our Services Page.
MENTAL HEALTH
 Good mental health is central to the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities. Our mental healthcare services include: medication management, GP Mental Healthcare plans, counselling and referral to allied health providers.
IMMUNISATIONS

Immunisation protects against a range of preventable diseases and infections. We provide :

  • Childhood immunisations, catch up immunisations and can assist you in updating your overseas vaccinations to Australian status. 
  • Seasonal Vaccinations: Influenza and COVID-19 boosters, and many other scheduled immunisations, including Shingles, Whooping Cough (Pertussis), and Pneumococcal.
TRAVEL MEDICINE
 We provide general travel vaccinations and advice. 
CHRONIC DISEASE AND HEALTH CARE PLANS
 Chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, chronic pain are amongst the most common conditions that can be supported with the help of a care plan. You may be eligible for a care plan which can assist you in getting support services (e.g. physio and speech therapy) at a more affordable rate.
NURSE CONSULTATIONS + WOUND CLINIC

Our Registered Nurses are able to take appointments for established patients of the practice under supervision of your GP.   Their services are generally bulk billed and include:

Childhood and general vaccinations, wound dressings, blood pressure monitoring, health assessments and booster immunisations.

How Do I Get My Results?

Your doctor will advise you when and how to get your results; however, results will generally fall into the following follow-up categories:

For abnormal results or urgent concerns, we will contact you to make a follow-up appointment.

If you have not heard from your Doctor, it is always best to follow up your results by leaving a message with reception for a results call back from your Doctor.

If you are still experiencing symptoms and your Doctor hasn't requested a follow-up appointment, please contact the surgery on 02 9416 7411 or book online to make a further appointment to discuss.
